Organic Lavender

Lavender (ed. Prov. Lavandula) is a genus of plants belonging to the Labiatae family (Labiatae). The best known genus is lavender, which includes about 25 species. It is native to the Mediterranean areas. It is also found in the Canary Islands, India and other Asian countries. The essential oil contained in its leaves is used in perfumery and for the treatment of neurological diseases.

It also has antiseptic properties and is used in wound healing. In large doses lavender acts as a hypnotic and narcotic. Its thermal properties have been known since antiquity and are mentioned in Dioscorides, Pliny and Galen.

As a decoction has relaxing properties combats insomnia and anxiety and calms the nerves and relaxes the nervous tension.

How to prepare a decoction:

a teaspoon in boiling water. Leave it for 10 minutes and after straining it, consume it. Up to three cups a day.
